Prescriptions & Renewals Fees and Payments Health Care Information Patients are seen by physician referral only. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please give us at least 24-hour notice. Plan to come at least 15 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out paperwork. Complete the health questionnaire and information sheet prior to your visit and remember to bring them with you to your appointment.
Prescriptions and renewals should be requested during regular office hours. Please have the name and dosage available when you call, along with the name and telephone number of your pharmacy. To better serve you, please call a few days before you run out of the medication. Doctors may be out of the office on Wednesdays, therefore prescriptions will be filled the following day. Generally, prescriptions will not be filled on the weekend or after hours as the patient records are not available for the doctor's review. Please plan ahead! Neurologists are frequently required to expend time and effort in evaluating more complex medical problems than average. The initial physician consultation fee will generally range from $150 to $300, depending on the complexity of the situation and the time required. Payment is requested at the time of service, however we recognize the need to set up payment plans in certain circumstances. We will file your insurance for you, but it is important to realize that no insurance company attempts to cover all medical costs. Your statement will reflect what has been filed with your insurance and their payment. It is your responsibility to pay any deductible amount, co-insurance, co-payment, or any other balance not paid by your insurance. If you feel you need further assistance with insurance matters, we will be happy to help you receive maximum benefits; however the agreement of the insurance company to pay for your medical care is a contract between you and the insurance company. Feel free to discuss fees, bills, and insurance filing with us as we want our patients to understand and be satisfied with all services rendered. You will need to continue to see your family doctor for your overall health care. Because of the complexity and chronic nature of many neurologic disorders and because of the frequent functional handicaps that result, the consultant neurologist often evaluates and provides extensive recommendations about the patient's social circumstances, living conditions and demands of daily life as well as about the illness itself. This requires a "team" approach involving the patient, family, the family physician, as well as allied health personnel such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, home health and counseling. It is our goal to not only diagnose and treat neurological disease, but to coordinate the teamwork necessary for each individual to ensure the best quality of life. Our office can provide you with information about your disease and contact information regarding support groups.
